The class website that I found is for a 2nd grade class from the Deer Valley Unified School District Website. Specifically, this 2nd grade class belongs to Ms. Parmigiani. Located on the website, that is allowed to be seen publically are a lot of resources such as the weekly school newsletter, the daily class schedule, the classroom homework and many other useful materials that the students would need. There is also a "Welcome!"/"About me" page that the teacher introduces herself and talks a little bit about what her class will be like. 

Since I want to go into publishing, I would use technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities more effectively and efficiently by incorporating it into the way that I work with the publishing firm. Specifically, I would use technology to educate, market, and spread the word about book/magazine releases and also use technology to work with various books and magazines on their online platforms. I  think that as technology is expanding and progressing it is important to incorporate it into the aspects of education, but also to other aspects of society like publishing. 

The technology sandbox was a very interesting experience considering I had never interacted with this type of technology before. Virtual Reality was the most interesting because of the level of realism that it brings. Knowing that this is only the beginning of the future for virtual reality and technologies a like  was very astounding However, I  think that the tool that I  found with the most potential for learning in the classroom was the 3D cube. The 3D cube has so much potential to be able to teach students tangibly. I  think that the 3D cube could also be useful for things in many different industries because of the different applications that could be done to present topics using its applications.

As a student, and especially as an English major I have had to use Microsoft Word on numerous occasions. I  use MS Word for every paper that I  have to write, notes I have had to take, and for every other written text that was best formatted online. I  have seen my teachers use MS Word for typing notes for class and presenting them to the class as well as creating rubrics and other related links/documents to post on the course site. I  have had a good amount of exposure to copyright and fair use materials.       If I were a teacher I would use the Excel tool for multiple purposes. Excel could be used to layout class assignment due dates, calculate student grades for tests/assignments, take attendance and much more. For example, if I were teaching 2nd grade English I would use excel to make a spreadsheet to lay out the grammar, writing, and other assignments that students would be responsible for knowing the details of. Continually, I would use it to calculate the grades of in-class assignments compared to writing assignments and other activities.       The topics that I found most interesting from reviewing my classmates' blogs was being able to see their perspectives on the different aspects of educational technology. I have never used Twitter until the start of my academic career at Florida State. I have been using Twitter for some of my other classes in addition to using it in this EME class. From using Twitter I have learned how to be informed and stay up to date on current events academically and around the world. I think that Twitter is useful in this sense because it allows individuals such as myself to communicate and share ideas and also learn more from other individuals who are sharing information as well. There is a multitude of benefits that come from using a social media platform like Twitter. One of these benefits includes being able to stay connected and informed in so many different locations.
