Blog Seven
I have never used Twitter until the start of my academic career at Florida State. I have been using Twitter for some of my other classes in addition to using it in this EME class. From using Twitter I have learned how to be informed and stay up to date on current events academically and around the world. I think that Twitter is useful in this sense because it allows individuals such as myself to communicate and share ideas and also learn more from other individuals who are sharing information as well. There is a multitude of benefits that come from using a social media platform like Twitter. One of these benefits includes being able to stay connected and informed in so many different locations. Another benefit is that Twitter can be used to spread awareness and education too. I have not had any issues using Twitter in my experiences so far. It has been very useful for connecting and learning about other educational tools and resources that will help me in my academic and career future.
As an Editing, Writing, and Media major I have had to make multiple websites and complete a multitude of other web design projects. However, I have still learned a lot while completing this web design project. I learned how to format a website for teaching a class and how to frame a website around one topic in a very specific way. I also gained more experience using the WIX website platform that will definitely be useful for my future career and other endeavors. I like that this project gave me the opportunity to execute a hypothetical class setting and creatively express how I would layout a successful and informative website for that purpose. I think that I could improve on this project for next time by including more details and paying more close attention to the way in which the design of my website is cohesive in its color scheme etc. While my website executes these things well, I think that I could have improved on these details a little bit more. Creating this website was great practice for me because of the career that I want to have in publishing and/or marketing and public relations.

There are many assistive technologies that exist for people with disabilities. Technologies such as Dragon Dictate and screen readers that allow people with physical disabilities to use technology and learn. Adaptive technologies such as these can help people with disabilities learn just as well as people without disabilities. There are so many challenges that can occur in everyday life with assistive technology, much less a classroom. One problem that I anticipate in the classroom would be being able to afford enough or the right type of assistive technology for the student. Accommodations are important and making sure that the student has the right type and the proper environment to learn it is very important. Another problem that could occur could be being able to give the student the proper attention that they need for learning. If the student has an acute physical or mental disability they may be able to learn and function in the classroom but might need a little bit of extra help as the class goes on (even extra time after class etc.) This would take extra time, planning, and effort for the teacher to ensure that the student is getting the best opportunities to learn.
